Important Things You Should Know Before Moving Electronics...

It's very important to allow time for any appliance to reach room temperature before attempting to turn it on.
Most moving companies have an exclusion in their policies for electronic devices stating that if the item does not work, it is not covered under the carrier's general liability or coverage offering full value protection. However, if the appliance is mishandled and there is visible damage, the carrier would be responsible for any damages, including its working condition.
If you discover visible damage to any item, including damage to a corrugated container, you should document the damage on your inventory. Be sure to request a copy from your driver before he leaves. Contact the moving company, van line, or your personal move coordinator to request a claim form.
